Spain Trip 2007

Agenda for 7 p.m. Sunday, April 15, 2007 in the NVMS cafeteria

46 days prior to departure☺!

1.       Please go to ALL of the following stations in ANY order upon arrival at the meeting:

a.          Edit and correct the phone tree

b.          Edit and correct the email list

c.          Order group shirts with correct size (paid by fundraiser☺)

d.          Order waist or neck passport holder (paid by fundraiser☺)

e.          Submit one copy of the passport vital statistics

f.          Submit one copy of your medical insurance card

g.          Complete and submit the “Medical Emergency” card

h.          Collect copy of why you want to go to Spain☺!

2.          Discuss carpool transportation to the Des Moines International Airport on Thursday, May 31.

3.          Discuss ATM cards, debit cards, credit cards, exchange rate (about $1.30 US buys $1 Euro), and other money issues.

4.          Discuss phone cards.  You may buy AT&T phone cards for about four cents ($.04) per minute for calls in the U.S.  Calling from Spain requires 6 domestic minutes per minute, or about $.24 per minute.  To call from Spain, dial 900-90-0011, then the 800-number listed on the back of the card.  Avoid frequent calls!

5.          Discuss what to wear and “Tips for Travelers to Spain 2007”.  Señor Robidoux will present a model carry-on.  Then, enjoy the Davis-Do’s and Dowell-Don’ts as presented by Señoras Davis and Dowell. 

6.       We will meet Wednesday, May 23, at 7 p.m. in NVMS in the cafeteria to distribute tickets, euros, passport holders, group shirts, final itineraries, hotel information, EF backpacks, final instructions, etc. 

7.       Address other items.
