For Grades 5, 6, 7, Open, and Elite

Test your fitness and compete against other runners from
other Ankeny elementary schools and P.E. classes on
one of
the finest tracks in Iowa! Or, race against Open and Elite
athletes from other age groups.
This event is hosted by the
Ankeny Boys Cross Country team, a perennial state contender.
Entry: unlimited entries
and no entry fee for Ankeny students grades 5-7.
Awards: the first, second, and third place finisher in each race will earn a medal.
Other finishers will earn ribbons. There are no awards in the Open division.
Elite and Open racers are asked to make
a donation to the Ankeny Boys Cross
Country program at registration. This is a fundraiser for the team.
Please register with your
P.E. teacher by the end of Wednesday, May 21, 2008, to
help determine in advance the number of sections. Registration also
will be accepted
at the races. Race in your elementary school or Parkview team t-shirt.
The 1600-meter metric mile
(4 laps) is about 2 seconds (9 meters) short of a mile.
The 4x400 meter relay is four laps raced by
four contestants exchanging a baton.
